The management and staff of the PM Company are dedicated to supporting our local community. Every winter, we host an annual Spirit of Giving donation drive. River Road Music Festival – Sept. 30
Head north of Vienna to experience the River Road Music Festival. River Road will include a large outdoor music experience with Sydney Mack (American Idol Contestant), Kate Boytek, Morgan White, as well as other artists, and will be held on the Historic Henderson Hall Plantation nestled along the Ohio River. Henderson Hall is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and the property boasts over 40 acres.
AGP Hee Haw 2023 – Oct. 13 & 15
The Actors Guild of Parkersburg’s next fundraising event, HEE HAW, is a fun-filled family variety spinoff of the television show from the 1970s that played through the 90s. Featuring Parkersburg local Roy Clark, Jr. and family, the show will also showcase a live stage band, including local string artists on fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass. Other special musical “guests” include Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Conway Twitty.
This show is loaded with good, clean comedy skits and amazing local talent. Down-home concessions will be sold in the lobby, including popcorn, homemade cookies, water, beer, and wine. Come on out and join us in Kornfield Kounty to support our local community theater. Enjoy a fun-filled night of hilarious comedy and, most of all, great country and bluegrass music. Located in Parkersburg near Vienna.
Artoberfest – Oct. 14
Join us for a celebration of the arts on the 700 block of Market Street in Parkersburg near Vienna! This is a fun fall event for everyone. Artists will fill the block with unique and hand-crafted items for your shopping pleasure. Entertainment for the evening includes several local bands! Enjoy great food and drink! The Art Center and the PAC713 Market will also be open all evening. The event is free, but donations will be accepted at the entrance.
Fall Fungi Festival – Oct. 14
If you don’t mind an hour’s drive, you can learn all about mushrooms and fungi during this fun fall event. This two-day, one-night event will include inoculation workshops, guided hikes with mushroom experts, fungus forays, family programming, dehydration workshops, live music, camping, and more! This is a space that is inclusive and encouraging for all folks to learn more about fungi and deepen their sense of place in Appalachian Ohio. Come to learn about mushrooms and stay for the friendship.
Monster Mash – Oct. 20
Love the pageantry of Halloween? Monster Mash is a family-centric Halloween party made possible by Downtown PKB and local businesses and community organizations who set up to be vendors for this event. Children will participate in hands-on activities and pick up trick-or-treat giveaways provided by local businesses and community organizations.
Make sure to come dressed in your best Halloween costume for a safe and not-so-scary evening celebrating the season!
Oil and Gas Museum – Year-round
Your history lesson begins as soon as you arrive at the Oil & Gas Museum because the exhibits are housed in a historic building in downtown Parkersburg that dates back to 1900!
Did you know that both oil and natural gas were discovered in western Virginia by the first explorers in the mid-1700s? Then, George Washington acquired 250 acres in what is now West Virginia, as it contained an oil and gas spring. This was all the way back in 1771, making the father of our country the first petroleum industry speculator.
Explore a fun local exhibit this fall. Great for people of all ages!
